Training Wheelz
"Learning-Time-for-Tots"

Becker Middle School
9151 Pinewood Hills Dr. Rm. #401

Ms. Shirley, the Program Coordinator at the Symbolic Art Center, is passionate about teaching basic skills to youth ages 4-6. She has more than sixteen years of experience training, nurturing and helping this age group prepare for school. She is an instrumental team leader working specifically with the Elementary students and sharing insights and wisdom with the Middle School girls at Symbolic Art's -- After School Activities Program (A.S.A.P) -- Through her personal touch & loving creativity she has impacted an incalculable number of students over the years.

The main emphasis of the TrainingWheelz, 'Tots' program is to nurture the learning experience for children ready for pre-school and kindergarten. Participants develop social skills while stacking the building blocks of basic learning skills as needed to adapt to a formal classroom setting.

"Training Wheelz" is a learning tool that complements other methods of basic skills and early childhood development.

With years of experience instructing before and after school programs, developing and implementing "Tot" summer camp programs and participating in the rapid growth of Symbolic Art, Ms. Shirley has fostered meaningful connections with her students.

What's equally important is the fact that she has garnered the affection and trust among parents realizing tremendous popularity within the Las Vegas community as a loving, mothering educator who enjoys helping children make the transition into higher learning with relative ease and confidence.

At Symbolic Art we believe children perform with increased confidence after securing a firm foundation in the fundamental areas of learning such as recognizing and forming letters, numbers, shapes and colors. TrainingWheelz participants will get the attention they need to improve according to their individual pace - they will be expected to practice certain skills as they become accustomed to interacting with other students prior to entering elementary grades.

Interactive sessions that include writing, completing art projects, and beginning phonics create a balanced opportunity for growth and ongoing academic development.
